The New Testament in the Galilee

This one is one of the most astonishing, exciting tours you can choose.

We’ll begin the tour in Nazareth, in the Basilica of the Annunciation – the largest church in the Middle East. In this holy place, the Virgin Mary received the message of her carrying and giving birth to Jesus, the son of God.

Following the church, we’ll walk along the local market to Miriam Fountain and St. Gabriel’s Church, also known as the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation.

From Nazareth we’ll move on to the Wedding Church at Kfar Kana, where Jesus’ first miracle took place – turning water into wine.

Our next goal will be the Sea of Galilee and Mary’s Well, known for its numerous archeological sites, including the highlight: a synagogue from Jesus’ time in the Galilee.

We’ll also be visiting the Ancient Boat Museum in Kibbutz Ginosar, where Jesus’ old boat is displayed. For those who wish to enhance this experience, we can add a magical sailing trip in a wooden boat.

Following the sermon, we’ll go to The Mount of Beatitudes, the “Mount Sinai” of the Christian world, and visit the Octagonal Church, built at the top of the mountain, overlooking the landscape of the Kinneret, the Galilee and the Golan Heights.

From the Mount of Beatitudes, we’ll head straight to The Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish, in Tabgha, where we can admire its beautiful mosaic floor and hear all about the miracle of the loaves and fish.

Finally, we’ll visit Capernaum, also known as “Jesus’ town in Galilee”, where we’ll find the old synagogue, visit the old house where the healing of the mother of Peter’s wife took place – one of the great miracles performed by Jesus. After that, we’ll get closer to the sea shore and take it all in with a short meditation, listening to the waves.
